Pro City Kenner Notes: Day 1

July 15, 2015 - The 2015 DC Nike Pro City Kenner League got off to a grand start this past weekend, allowing hoop fans to see college and pro guys go at it in a controlled environment. Following is a run down of several players competing on Day 1.
Of course Georgetown Hoyas put on their boots and took the court. For a detailed look at their play, see Premium Court. Excerpts of what's there are below, along with full blurbs on non-Georgetown guys.

Calvin Brown - 6'7", 300 pound center - Metropolitan All Stars - After taking a year off from professional basketball, Brown illustrated he can still play the game, putting his body on foes and scoring in the paint. A strong, savvy player who starred at Norfolk State before playing pro ball, Brown takes it to the rack. Had 19 points
Special Note: Prayers and goodwill go out to Brown's father, Calvin, Sr., who is battling some health issues at the moment. Calvin Jr. and the Brown family, a tight knit group - are pulling together to meet the challenges.
Elon Busch - 6'7", 210 pound forward - Metropolitan All Stars - After playing in Macedonia last year, it's obvious Busch can do his thing - defending, passing, making plays for others, finishing. Busch, who left Delaware State in '07 took a few years to land professionally, but can really play the game.
Isaac Copeland - 6'8", 210 pound sophomore forward, Georgetown, Clyde's - Clearly is trying to work on one-on-on and creating his own shot...
L.J. Peak = 6'4", 210 pound sophomore swingman, Georgetown, Clyde's - Also working on one-on-one moves...
Bradley Hayes - 6'10, 260 pound center, Georgetown, DCX - ....WAS more vocal no doubt. Told a DCX teammate...
Aaron Bowen - 6'4", 180 pound swingman, DCX - Former Hoya ...stepped up in the second half, driving and finishing...
Reggie Cameron - 6'5", 200 pound forward, Georgetown, DCX - ...Was frustrated. Visibility.
Mike Morsell - 6'3", sophomore guard, Towson - DCX - Came off the bench and poured in a total 16 points, including perimeter shots, of which Morsell has clearly been developing. He's long, competes and with continued jumpshot work could be a force in the CAA.
Chris Howard - 6'3" point guard - Premier Athletics - A graduate of South Florida, Howard still can run a squad, finding people and making them better. Has always possessed a coach's mind on the floor. Dropped 13 points.
Andrew 'Spongebob' Washington - 6'3" guard/forward, Premier Athletics - When you need a bucket, 'Spongebob' is your man, as he can bully, finesses and out-think opponents into giving up points to him. He's relentless, also using the mental game to throw foes off their games - Washington is one of the best talkers in the DMV.
