In need of a recruiting win after losing four players - including a pair of starter level, all Rookie team Big EAST guys - in December, Georgetown and head coach Pat Ewing got good news today as Class of 2020 guard Tyler Beard verbally committed. Rivals.com recruiting analyst Corey Evans broke the news.

Beard, a 6'1", 175 pound lead guard ranked 149th nationally and designated a three star Rivals.com player, can reportedly man both guard positions. Per Evans, "He has shown the ability to run a half-court offense, defend the opposing team’s best scorer and has improved as an athlete and shot maker.".

Beard, attends Chicago''s Whitney Young and received interest from a slew of schools, including Maryland, Vanderbilt, Texas A&M and Ole Miss. He joins four star recruit Jamari Sibley and Tennessee-based lead guard Dante Harris in the Hoyas' 2020 recruiting class.
