Bye Bye Beard
Georgetown announced the departure of three players and another possibly leaving, with freshman guard Tyler Beard standing in the former group. The rookie floor general confirmed it thusly:
A heady game managing point guard, Beard averaged three points, 1.4 rebounds and just over an assist per game in 30 contests played, a pair being starts. Twice he reached double figure scoring, pouring in 23 points vs. Howard, 15 against the BIG EAST's Butler.
Before Georgetown, the 6'2", 180 pound Bread attended Hargarave Military Academy (VA), a move driven by Covid-19 upending society, of which college basketball is obviously a part.
Prior to Hargrave, Beard played for four years at Whitney Young (IL), eventually being tabbed Class 4A All-State Second Team in 2020. It was that year he chose to be a Hoya.
Beard's next move is unknown at this time.
