Porter talks about snub and BET

March 7, 2010 - By all reasonable criteria, freshman forward Otto Porter has had a stellar freshman season, averaging 9 points and 6.8 rebounds each time out. This is from a 6'8" forward who has both started and come off the bench for a top 15 team, nationally.
Of more importance is when he provides his impact - which is usually just when the Hoyas need it. That timely production has been on display since, well since he matriculated to the Hilltop this summer.

Just look at what John Thompson III, his coach, had to say after a 69-49 win at St. John's for confirmation: (He's not suprised by it) "Because we've seen it before. He's (in) the early part of his freshman year, but we've seen it consistently since this summer. And so he just makes plays…the timing of those rebounds were key today".
Sunday, the BIG EAST published its league award teams, including the All-Rookie list. Porter was conspicuously absent from it.
Porter discussed being left off the the All-Rookie team on Thursday, along with a number of other topics, including comfort with being pressed and tournament play preparation.
