January 13, 2014 - Georgetown's women's team has been game this season, yet stand just 7-9 and 1-3 in the BIG EAST. It's not due to a lack of effort, with two ladies personifying the team's competitive streak; freshman center Natalie Butler and senior forward Andrea White. Both have been again acknowledged by the conference.
Butler was tabbed Rookie of the Week in the BIG EAST's weekly honor roll. She averaged 14.5 points, 17.5 caroms and a trio of rejection, helping the Hoyas to a 1-1 week. Her 20 rebound mark against Xavier was the second time this year she reached that accomplishment. It's the sixth time Butler has made rookie of the week in her brief Hoya career.
White, averaging 20.5 points, eight rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.5 swipes tallied a 25 point, 10 rebound total in G'Town's win against Butler at McDonough Arena Saturday. Her play landed Honor Roll designation for White, third time this year, fourth overall, the award has been received.
Wednesday, White, Butler et al will line up against Providence, for a 7p match up. Fans can track stats and take advantage a webcast at Friars.com.
