yesterday, Georgetown announced head coach Pat Ewing will not take the bench when his Hoyas take on visiting Butler tonight. The reason provided was local Covid protocol provisions. The entire statement is below
Who will take the first seat instead?
Assistant coach Louis Orr is that guy. A 30 year plus year coaching veteran with head coaching stints at Bowling Green, Seton Hall and Siena, Orr has also served as an assistant for Syracuse, Xavier and Providence.
He's been on the Hilltop since 2017, rejoining Ewing; the two were on the NBA's New York Knicks during the latter's first three years in pro ball.
Georgetown Basketball Update
WASHINGTON – Georgetown Head Coach Patrick Ewing will be unavailable for Thursday’s game against Butler (January 13) in accordance with DC Department of Health guidelines.
Assistant Coach Louis Orr will serve as the acting coach starting with the Butler game.
