Noel on his reasons

April 12, 2012 - Last night on national television, Class of 2012 center and Rivals.com's number one ranked player in that class, Nerlens Noel broke the hard of Hoya Nation, choosing instead the University of Kentucky. Syracuse was also an official finalist, but according to rumor, as reported by b>HoyaReport.clom, the Orange may not have been actually considered last night.
Noel, renown for being a reluctant interviewee, did discuss his reasons for choosing the Wildcats. After much build up - viewers tuned in for around an hour and fifteen minutes before the actual announcement - Nerlens started out by saying "I felt comfortable with these three schools. I built good relationsh9ips with the coaching staffs. I thought I could play good at any three of these styles".

In dramatic fashion, the long and athletic post player then said "I'll be taking my talents, for college, to play, at the University of (pause)", before swiveling around in his chair and revealing 'UK' cut into the back of his hair. He then held up a Kentucky, #5 jersey, more or less sealing it.
A recurring theme regarding why UK was personal fit. According to Noel, the decision had the blessings of his mother.
Come join the discussion on Premium Court, for a more complete transcript of last night's signing day program. Also, the rumor previously discussed their regarding development, will be revisited.
Congrats and good luck go to Noel, UK head coach John Calipari, assistant coach and presumably lead recruiter (based on Noel's comments) Orlando Antigua, and the Kentucky program.
