Meeks shuns Hoyas

November 16, 2012 - Just minutes ago, Class of 2013 center Kennedy Meeks announced the University of North Carolina will be his college home. As a result, Georgetown was not chosen.
A skilled center that can shoot from the outside, pass and make plays for others, Meeks joins Nate Britt - another player Georgetown recruited - and Isaiah Hicks in UNC's incoming Class of 2013.

Weighing around 300 pounds and standing 6'9", Meeks was asked during his ESPNU signing announcement how he will mesh with the Tarheels' faster pace, given his size. Kennedy's response centered around entering a college strength and conditioning program, at which time he would improve/change his body, so to speak.
Many in the Hoya Nation thought the Charlotte, NC native would have been a perfect fit for Georgetown's offense; one that values shooting, passing and a good understanding of the game.
Good luck goes out to Meeks, aka 'Baby' going forward. He's a good young man that deserves future success.
