Looks like Waters will be no show

As reported on @HoyaNation and elsewhere, reports indicate Class of 2017 point guard Tremont Waters does not plan to attend Georgetown; having inked his letter of intent last fall, Waters and his father Ed apparently have decided Blue and Grey is not a color the 5'11" point guard will don, and have asked to released from the binding LOI.

Ranked 36th and affixed a four star designation by Rivals.com, Waters is a shifty floor leader that can also score. He knows how to run a team, and has increased his athletic ability in high school.

With Waters in the fold, point guard was assumed a settled question going forward. G'Town clearly desired him, as witnessed by the continued recruitment of Waters, despite the school possessing documents that bound Tremont to them.

Waters was scheduled to join forward Antwan Walker in the Hoyas' upcoming recruiting class, with another player possibly being secured. Obviously there is an extra spot available to John Thompson III and his staff to secure another student athlete, now that Waters appears unlikely to play at G'Town.

Without him and absent a replacement, the 2017-18 season currently points toward junior Jonathan Mulmore, senior Tre Campbell and sophomore Jagan Mosely battling it out for starting point guard duties.

At this time, the school has not supplied a statement regarding Waters.

That hasn't stopped fans from commenting - in fact, Waters' status has been a regular topic of conversation on Premium Court. The latest twist in his saga is being explored here.

It appears Tremont Waters doesn't want to drive the ball for Georgetown.
