Anthony 'Gumby' Williams - 6'3", 200 pound swingman, Lincoln Park - A veteran of the APBL's Rockville Victors and Pfieffer University, Williams is a cagy shooter who sinks the long ball regularly. Has many tricks to get shots. Scored 15 points.
Will also finish on the fast break, though should concentrate more getting into the lane in half court situations.
Pierre Johnson - 6'5", 220 pound forward, Lincoln Park - A rugged inside player, Johnson scored 21 points at the rim, from mid-range and the free throw line. Is a grizzled veteran.
Johnson could use more shooting range, helpful versus bigger foes.
Henry Sims - 6'10", 250 pound center, Tombs - Having just completed a half year with the NBA's Philadelphia 76'ers, Sims played in his first summer league action and beasted, scoring 18 points, cleaning glass and defending. Henry played like a guy that has competed against better players, and knows it.
Sims was aggressive and forceful, which was exemplified by his rim running; while a Hoya, Henry didn't necessarily exert full effort. Now he does, and it's illustrated by running from rim to rim on both sides of the floor.
Henry's mid-range game could be strengthened, particularly his face up game from that distance.
Corey Spence - 5'9", 170 pound point guard, Northern Colorado, DCX - Scored 10 points, most scored down the stretch when his team needed them most.
Needs to balance team running and scoring better.
Julian Vaughn - 6'10", 245 pound center, Tombs - Dropped 25 points, scored mostly from the line and around the tin. Former Hoya was more active overall. Worked well with Sims, who he cross screened for and received passes from.
Was in a lot of high post situations. Should work in the low post more.
Aaron Bowen - 6'6", 200 pound senior swingman, Georgetown, DCX - Continued his confident play, scoring 15 points. Was really good driving, solid shooting. Fought through some frustration.
Must maintain...
Bradley Hayes - 6'10", 235 pound junior center, Georgetown, DCX - Finished with 10 points. Grabbed several boards.
Has to...
L.J. Peak - 6'5", 200 pound freshman swingman, Georgetown, Tombs - Deferred to his team's professional big man tandem of Vaughn and Sims, repeatedly feeding Sims and to a lesser degree Vaughn. Scored 13 points nevertheless.
That...
Isaac Copeland - 6'8", 200 pound freshman forward, Georgetown, Tombs - Had a quiet game, yet still accounted for 14 points. Is becoming more comfortable with his perimeter skills.
Clearly is working...
Tristan Spurlock - 6'6", 210 pound forward, Higher Level - Dropped 24 points in his teams' 83-73 loss to Tombs. Proved he can score from the outside, finish on breaks and attack the tin; doing the latter again and again against Sims and Vaughn. Said afterward doing so was the way to negate Tombs' size advantage.
Spurlock should burnish his mid-range, stop and pop game for professional pursuits.
