November 5, 2015 - What's a 'STL'? That would be Soul Train Line, a fixture of the famous Soul Train show that aired between '71 - '06. A cultural phenomenon, Soul Train reached millions of households weekly.
During the show, the Soul Train Line became a fixture; picture a male-female couple dancing down a corridor consisting of fellow dancers. Viewers made sure to check out that segment, many times emulating the moves seen.

John Thompson III, G'Town's head coach having grown up in that era, apparently was one of the throngs who enjoyed the Soul Train Line and larger show. So much so that the Soul Train Line is a staple of Hoya Hoops Madness.
