Henry Sims Selected to Play in NABC All-Star Game during Final Four Weekend

WASHINGTON - Georgetown University senior men's basketball player Henry Sims (Baltimore, Md./Mount St. Joseph) was one of 20 of the nation's most outstanding senior men's basketball players selected to play in the 2012 Reese's Division I College All-Star Game, sponsored by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC).
The NABC Division I College All-Star Game will be played as part of Final Four Friday® during the NCAA Men's Final Four® weekend on March 30 at 5:35 p.m. ET at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. Sims was one of 20 senior Division I men's college basketball players selected by the NABC to play. The game will air on TruTV on Saturday, March 31 at 1 p.m. ET.
A 6-10 center, Sims enjoyed the best year of his career as a senior. He finished third on the team in scoring (11.6 ppg), second in rebounding (6.0 rpg) and led the team with 3.5 assists. Sims ranked 14th in the BIG EAST in assists and 20th in among league players in rebounds. Entering his senior year with 88 games played and three games in double figures in scoring, Sims reached double figures 21 times this year. A skilled passer, Sims led the team in assists 21 times this season.
Sims, an All-BIG EAST Third Team selection, also led the team in blocked shots (1.4 per game) and was the only player to rank among the top-15 in the BIG EAST in both assists and blocks. His 94 career rejections ranks 19th all-time at Georgetown.
Georgetown finished the 2011-12 season with a 24-9 overall record and advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the sixth time in eight years under Thompson. The Hoyas, who were picked to finish 10th in the BIG EAST, posted a 12-6 record in league play and were among the top five teams in the league.
