An interesting exchange occurred when Ewing was asked about the impact of his offensive style from AAU/travel team basketball. In essence, would the latter dictate the former?

"My style is the style we play in the NBA. It’s going to be a blend of the NBA style and also the style we played here at Georgetown in terms of pressing and getting up the floor, trapping and all that stuff. In my years here.

"The AAU style doesn’t have anything to do with the way I plan on playing here".
