June 28, 2012 - The 2012 National Basketball Association Draft will occur tonight, with the world tuning into ESPN and Newark, NJ, beginning at 7p. What's at stake is the basketball future of young professional aspirants - those actually selected in the draft's two rounds, and others who wjill not be, yet are impacted by its developments.
Three recent Hoyas have a chance to be selected, as Jason Clark, Henry Sims and Hollis Thompson have all worked out for league franchises prior to tonight. Thompson (6'8", 210 pound) is a smooth shooting swingman that left after his junior year, while Clark and Sims - both seniors - are a 6'2", 190 pound combo guard that loves to defend and 6'10", 240 pound skilled center who loves to dime teammates, respectively.
Interestingly enough all three auditioned for the league's Washington Wizard franchise, whose Verizon Center home also doubles as the Hoyas' primary D.C. gym. Interviews with all three are available here.
Our Premium Court message board is the place to discuss Thompson the coach's commentary, or the selections (or not) of this trio of Blue and Grey guys. Those participating are encouraged to supply their prognostications. Additionally, rumors pertaining to the player's draft positions are shared.
