Today's game is the second time in consecutive years these local rivals have faced each other, both under Gavitt Games auspicious; an early season bi-league competition, the Gavitt Games - named after the BIG EAST's initial driving force - pit BIG EAST and Big Ten schools.

Last year was a raucous, 75-71 Terp victory. It was the first time since the early 70's Georgetown played in College Park, Maryland's home.

In terms of the school's all time match up, Maryland leads 37-27, though G'Town owns a four of seven recent advantage.
