Before their recent game against national prep school power Westtown, Rock Creek Christian Academy head coach Chris Cole labeled his team “Hungry. Aggressive. Versatile”. That stirring 63-54 victory proved it.

During the win, junior big man Jermaine Harris logged 15 points and seven rebounds, proving why the likes of Cincinnati, Providence, Rhody, South Carolina, PSU and Virginia Tech have all tendered him scholarship opportunities. He’s a 6’8”, 230 pound junior.

While Sherif Kenney finished with eight points, three rebounds, three assists, his impact was much greater; this 6’3”210 pound sophomore point guard was steady on the controls, providing stability for the Eagles. He’s received multiple offers from colleges, including Penn State and Rhode Island.

The baby of Cole’s bunch is Earl Timberlake; a 6’5”, 200 pound freshman guard/forward, Timberlake goes at opponents on both sides of the floor. When asked about that, he shared “I’ve always been like that”, a trait schools like West Virginia are evaluating and covet.

Against Westtown, the Eagles spaced the floor, which Cole said before is done to provide “people room to operate” and exploit mismatches. Rock Creek Christian’s full court pressure was big too, as despite Westtown only being credited with 11 turnovers, they had a tough time getting into their sets and running them comfortably.

Rock Creek Christian will do so to many foes this season.
