Copelands work gets noticed

November 23, 2015 - Though the Hoyas went 1-2 over the past week, Georgetown sophomore forward Isaac Copeland received BIG EAST Conference love - he was named to the league's weekly Honor Roll today!

BIG EAST Player of the Week
Josh Hart, Villanova, G, Jr.
Hart averaged 18.7 points and 7.0 rebounds in a 3-0 week. He scored a career-high 27 points to go with nine rebounds in a 75-56 win against Akron. In an 87-63 victory over Nebraska in the Gavitt Tipoff Games, the junior posted a team-high 19 points, five rebounds and four steals.
BIG EAST Freshman of the Week
Yankuba Sima, St. John's, C, Fr.
Sima helped the Red Storm to a 2-0 week by averaging 10.5 points, 9.0 rebounds and 5.0 blocks. In a 61-59 win against Rutgers in the Gavitt Tipoff Games, the 6-11 center contributed 13 points, nine rebounds and six blocked shots.
BIG EAST Honor Roll
Roosevelt Jones, Butler, F, Sr.
Averaged 12.3 points, 8.7 rebounds and 4.3 assists to help the Bulldogs finish second in the Puerto Rico Tip-Off.
Isaac Copeland, Georgetown, F, So.
Averaged 16.3 points, 6.7 rebounds and shot 56.3 percent from the floor in a win over Wisconsin and close losses against Duke and at Maryland.
Rodney Bullock, Providence, F, So.
Averaged 18.8 points and 8.5 rebounds in wins against Illinois and Brown. Shot 62.4 percent from the field.
Desi Rodriguez, Seton Hall, F, So.
Averaged 13.7 points and 5.3 rebounds while shooting 50 percent from the field in a 2-1 week that included wins over Mississippi and Bradley in the Charleston Classic.
Trevon Bluiett, Xavier, G, So.
Averaged 16.5 points, 8.0 rebounds and shot 6-of-11 from 3-point range in wins over Missouri and at Michigan.
