Cincy is next BET road for GTown
March 8, 2012 - The BIG EAST Championship in men's basketball is in full swing, with quarterfinal action upon us. Having dispatched Pitt 64-52 yesterday during a second round match up, the stakes and competition only increases for Georgetown, as Cincinnati beckons, today.
The teams will tip around 230p at Madison Square Garden. Georgetown (23-7 overall, 12-6 in regular season league play) fell to Cincinnati (22-9, 12-6) 68-64 during January in DC, a setback that only heightens the game's intrigue.

Revenge is joined in that regard by whether G'Town can stymie the Bearcat's perimeter attack and withstand their overall physicality. Cincy led the BIG EAST regular season in three pointers made (7.4), while also boasting one of it's most imposing players in Yancy Gates.
Cincinnati's ability to score against the Hoya's defensive packages also demands answering. G'Town paced the league in three point shooting defense, allowing a 27.7% clip, and ended up fourth in overall shooting percentage allowed (38.7%).
Offensively, the Hoyas are known for their cuts, shooters and patience, all of which combined to place them second among league teams in shooting percentage, at 46.2%. Will Cincy be focused enough to stop them?
