Brown checks out G'Town

With campus aflutter with preparation and interest regarding today's John Thompson Jr. Center (exclusive photos, Pt. 1, Pt. 2, Pt. 3) public unveiling, Georgetown's men's basketball program has it's hands full. It's a big day in the program's history, one that erases any critique the program/school lags in athletic facilities.

Add recruiting duties to head coach John Thompson III and his staff's plate; Class of 2017 guard Troy Brown is one high school student athlete on campus visiting.

Ranked 12th nationally by Rivals.com and affixed a five star designation, Brown, who has had no shortage of suitors; per JayHawkSlant.com, since September he's "visited Ohio State (9/2), Alabama (9/9), and Oregon (9/23)", with Kansas being traveled to this past weekend. UNLV, California and Arizona, plus G'Town, are also in the mix for his services.

A star at Centennial High School (NV), the 6'6", 190 pound Brown, when asked about a decision timetable told JayHawkSlant.com, "In November, I will sign for sure. I don't know how much more of the recruiting process I can handle. I would say, since being recruited since the eighth grade, it's just really worn on me".

On the court Brown is known for having a relatively broad skill base, one displayed constantly. Rivals.com's National Analyst, Eric Bossi, dubbed Brown's Adidas Nations competition work as "At Nations, the versatile 6-foot-6 guard showed off his all-around game while averaging nine points, 6.3 rebounds, 2.8 assists and just over two steals per game. At his best in transition, Brown has become much stronger over the past few months and is an elite playmaker and defender in the open floor".

The Georgetown visit, Brown's last, is scheduled to begin today and end tomorrow. He's joined on campus by another guard prospect, David Beatty.
