Bradley Hayes commits

May 9, 2012 - After a high school career in which he only played one full season of basketball, Class of 2012 center Bradley Hayes has decided Georgetown will be his college home, according to a Florida Times-Union article. Hayes is a 6'11", Sandlewood High School (FL) standout that averaged 13 points and 12.2 rebounds per contest last season, while also garnering All-First Coast (area) honors.
Judging from recruiting videos, Hayes is an athletic, long pivot player whose defense seems ahead of his offense. Given his limited high school career - growing nine inches since entering high school can be debilitating - that's not surprising. In fact, this past season was the only full campaign Hayes participated in. As a junior he played part of the year, and didn't compete at all as a freshman or sophomore. Needed weight loss was also part of the reason he didn't/couldn't suit up.

Having recently visited G'Town, Hayes was impressed with the program's ability to make him "feel real accepted", per the Times Union. He also noted Georgetown's history of developing big guys for the professional ranks, saying ""One of my goals is to make it to the league, and also get a good education in going there".
Hopefully we will have more about Hayes in the very near future. Join the discussion regarding this young pivot guy on Premium Court.
