Berger brings it to Hilltop

May 12, 2020 - Just in, Georgetown has secured a Class of 2020 commitment from guard T.J. Berger. A standout at Westtown (PA), Berger was originally slotted to attend Penn.

A 6'4", 170 pound combo guard that helped Westtown achieve it's 24-7, state championship resume this season, Berger dropped 14 points, four rebounds and 3.5 assists er game, while sinking 46% of his three point shots.

According to his father Seth, Westtown's coach, "He loves Steven Donahue and Penn, but wanted to explore other options", when asked why T.J. de-coupled from that school. The younger Berger committed to the Quakers last summer, deciding to review options the 26th of last month.

In terms of who G'Town, coached by Pat Ewing, bested for Berger's services, T.J.'s father noted "He didn't really create a list after his decommitment from Penn. Had interest from lots of schools but was really hoping to be a Hoya".

Berger joins Georgetown's 2020 incoming class of graduate transfer Jalen Harris (Arkansas), plus incoming freshman Jabari Sibley, Tyler Beard, Kobe Clark and Dante Harris - all guards with the exception of Sibley.
