August 23, 2017 - On the 15th of August, Class of 2018 guard Eric Ayala narrowed his voluminous college list to nine schools via Twitter. As indicated below, Georgetown made the cut, as did Maryland, Indiana, Syracuse, Oregon, OSU, Arizona, Miami and LSU. For those so inclined to notice, that's BIG EAST, ACC, PAC 12, BIG 10 and SEC schools being considered.

Ayala, a 6'4, 180 pound guard capable of playing both backcourt positions, is ranked 66th overall by Rivals.com and holds a four star designation. While not uber-athletic, Ayala is a smart player (intelligence also displayed in the class room), one who uses his body and angles to score and dime on offense. His most dangerous scoring weapon is likely a deft pull up jumper.

Defensively Eric is solid, again using size to shade dribblers away from the basket. He can guard multple positions.

Do the Hoyas have a chance in securing Ayala, now attending IMG Academy (FL), a player who is certainly capable of helping head coach Pat Ewing and staff improve the program?
