December 4, 2018 - Long time DMV collegiate and high school sports announcer Shelly Bowers has passed, per various Facebook postings.

A proud graduate of Grambling State University, Bowers was a fixture on the DMV sports scene, standing as one of if not the best announcers in the area. Howard, Georgetown and others institutions such as Wilson High School all benefited from his prowess.

R.I.P Shelley. You will be missed!
