July 1, 2011 - It's that wonderful time of the year again, where Hoya fans join hoops denizens in the Washington, DC area via getting to Georgetown University by car, bus, foot or bike, all intent on enjoying basketball. People from all walks arrive at McDonough Arena intent on informing future expectations, despite the heat and humidity of D.C. It's Nike Pro City Jabbo Kenner League time.

A longtime Washington hoops institution, the Nike Pro City Jabbo Kenner League pits collegiate and professional players under the whistle, for over more than a month. If you follow the Blue and Grey, the school's participation has included luminaries such as Alonzo Mourning, Allen Iverson, Jeff Green, Roy Hibbert, Victor Page and others, both well known and not so much. In recent memory, Kevin Durant, Andray Blatche, Gilbert Arenas and a host of other professionals have laced up the sneakers also.
Per usual, and fueling G'Town interest are the 'The Puppies', Georgetown's incoming class, suiting up. This year that would include Jabril Trawick, Mikael Hopkins, Greg Whittington and Otto Porter. Kenner gives fans a chance to assess their talents and foibles in high level competition.
Other school's partisans also have that opportunity: For example last year Maryland freshman Pe'Shon Howard and Terrell Stoglin balled at Kenner, along with George Mason's Bryon Allen and Jonathan Arledge. Overall, student athletes from teams in the BIG EAST, ACC, MEAC, CAA, America East, Patriot League, and other conferences were present, as were professionals from leagues across the globe.
G'Town's puppies typically gear up for The Tombs. Other Hoyas and their team assignments are available on our Premium Court message board. Also there are players from other institutions and their Kenner teams.
