After a standout freshman 2021-22 campaign at Duquesne, Amir (Primo) Spears decided to take his talents to Georgetown. A 12.7 ppg, 2.5 rpg, three apg contributor for the Dukes, Spears received three Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week awards for his work.

Upon choosing Georgetown, the stakes were raised, given the BIG EAST's reputation for being a more challenging league for players than his former A10.

Spears, a confident player, believes his former league's point guard play was formidable (it is). As a result in part, he is confident in being prepared for the Hoyas' lead guard role.
