Hoyas again prominent at Nike Pro City

Nike Pro-City League Set to Begin on Friday, July 6

WASHINGTON - An annual rite of summer in the District begins this weekend when Nike Pro-City League basketball action takes place at McDonough Arena on the campus of Georgetown University.
The Nike Pro-City League (formerly the Kenner League) is among the top summer college basketball leagues in the country and is annually held at Georgetown, affording basketball fans a chance to see current, future and former players competing head-to-head over the summer.
The schedule for the 2012 season is set to begin on Friday, July 6, with two games opening the season. The first game, starting at 7:30 p.m., features Higher Level against Can't Be Stop, while the second game, scheduled to begin at 8:50 p.m., features Emery Heights Elite and On Point.
Games continue throughout the weekend, with five games being played on Saturday, July 7, starting at 1 p.m. Five more games will be played on Sunday, July 8, starting at 1 p.m.
Georgetown players will be spread out among six teams in the 14-team league, which will feature two divisions, the Hyper Dunk and the Hyper Air.
The team's two most experienced players, rising junior Markel Starks (Washington, D.C./Georgetown Prep) and rising junior forward Nate Lubick (Southborough, Mass./St. Mark's) will play for Clyde's.
Rising sophomore Otto Porter (Sikeston, Mo./Scott County Central) and rising junior John Caprio (North Caldwell, N.J./Seton Hall Prep) will lead The Tombs, playing alongside three incoming Georgetown freshmen - Brandon Bolden (Sumter, S.C./QEA), Bradley Hayes (Jacksonville, Fla./Sandalwood) and D'Vauntes Smith-Rivera (Mouth of Wilson, Va./Oak Hill Academy).
Rising sophomores Jabril Trawick (Philadelphia, Pa./Abington Friends) and Greg Whittington (Columbia, Md./Oakland Mills) will play for DCX.
Mikael Hopkins (Hyattsville, Md./DeMatha), a rising sophomore center, will play for Team Takeover, while redshirt sophomore Aaron Bowen (Jacksonville, Fla./QEA) will play for Emery Heights Elite and junior center Moses Ayegba (Kano, Nigeria/Progressive Christian [Md.]) will play for Hoop Magic.
The Hyper Dunk Division includes Emery Heights Elite, Hoop Magic and The Tombs, while the Hyper Air Division includes Clyde's, Team Takeover and DCX
Regular season games will be played every weekend (there are no games on July 4) at McDonough Arena and the schedule closes out on Sunday, July 29.
Quarterfinal games will be played on Thursday, Aug. 2 and Friday, Aug. 3. Semifinal games will be played at 2 p.m. and 3:20 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 4 and the championship game will be held on Sunday, Aug. 5 at 3 p.m.
All parking for Nike Pro-City League games will be in the Southwest Garage off the Canal Road entrance to the University.
