Georgetown's 2022-23 roster continues to form, as University of Connecticut forward Akok Akok yesterday decided Georgetown would be his next college home. The announcement occurred thru his Instagram account.

For UConn last season, Akok, who was born in Egypt before moving to Manchester, NH as a young child, averaged 3.4 points and 3.2 rebounds per game. A redshirt junior, Akok arrived in Storrs with the reputation as a good scoring front court guy who could also block shots. Akok enrolled midyear in 2019 from Putnam Science Academy (CT), bringing with him a Rivals.com four star designation.

Standing 6'9" and weighing 205 pounds, he joins a team heavy on back court players, less so up front, as Ryan Mutombo stands as the only expected impact, front court performer currently on HC Patrick Ewing's roster currently.

Assistant coach Kevin Nickleberry was the lead recruiter on Akok, who also received rwcruiting attention from fellow newly minted Hoya assistant Clinton Crouch and of course, head guy Ewing, per a source.
