On Fall to UCF

October 30, 2014 - This week the HoyaNation learned Class of 2015 center Tacko Fall had spurned their scholarship offer, instead choosing to attend Central Florida next year. Georgia Tech, Purdue, Wake Forest and Vandy were also finalists for his services.

Having recently grown over 7'6", Fall is to use a bad pun, a big catch. Interestingly enough, he can actually catch (a basketball), move, and has a surprising skill set for an African-born (he's Senegalese) post player, including scoring inside the paint via jump hooks and shooting outside of it.
Defensively, Tacko does a good job of protecting the rim, generally holding his hands high and not fouling. While he must continue to lift weights and get stronger, thereby becoming even more stout at the point of attack, Fall is willing to bang in the paint, which helps him in rebounding.
Given his intelligence, size, aptitude - during NBAPA Top 100 and Ty Lawson-Vic Oladipo Camp action this summer, Fall was quickly able to implement techniques and tactics taught - and good mobility (see Instagram post below) for a 280 pound plus guy, with continued training and proper on court utilization, UCF and coach Donnie Jones could very well have a future pro on their hands.
Just why did Fall, an excellent student at Liberty Christian Prep select UCF?
When posed that question this week, Tacko responded "I chose UCF because I know I can help them bring the program to another level plus I feel like they can help me a lot. Also I am very comfortable in that environment".
His quote was previously published on our Premium Court message board. Also there now is possible further insight into Fall's decision/recruitment.
