Yurts is yanked upwards

When Omer Yurtseven left a year of eligibility on the table and departed Georgetown for pro ball in 2020, it was with one goal in mind; becoming a big time hoops professional. His chances were good, as a 6'10", 250 pound center with really good shooting range is valued in today's hoops landscape, including the pinnacle National Basketball Association. Everybody values floor stretching. f it's a big that's seemingly even better.

Well, it's 2021 and Yurtseven is on his way to achieving that goal. After playing for the Oklahoma City Blue of G League fame, he's signed an official NBA deal with Miami's Heat.

Yurtseven put up 15.2 points, 9.3 boards and 1.36 blocks in 21 minutes of play for the OKC Blue this season with shooting numbers equaling 62.6% shooting overall, 38.1% on three pointers. During 14 appearances this campaign, he's logged 11 games double figure scoring. Add a quintet of double figure scoring/rebounding games, including a pro career best 34 points, 13 board, three blocks/assists outburst.

After transferring to Georgetown from North Carolina State, resultantly sitting out a year, Yurtseven, a thoughtful and engaging Turkish national stood out at Georgetown, accounted for 15.5 points during 27.3 minutes per game. He also swiped 9.8 rebounds each time out, while rejecting 1.46 blocks. As a Hoya, he made the ALL BIG EAST Honorable mention team.

Yurtseven joins Jeff Green and Otto Porter as Hoyas currently signed to an NBA franchise.
