Report: Expanded search effort used

Per an Adrian Wojnarowski tweet issued minutes ago, Georgetown's search for a head coach extends beyond the announcement of a committee led by school board member and former NFL commissioner Paul Tagliabue, along with current Athletic Director Lee Reed. Apparently the Korn Ferry organization is engaged in the effort.

Korn Ferry, a top level executive search firm headquartered in Los Angeles, defines itself as providing "the most validated search approach, deep knowledge of your industry, and innovative science and analytics. So you can make the best possible decision for the long term, the first time".

Of further interest, Ferry was instrumental in helping NBA franchises - Detroit's Pistons and Minnesota's Timberwolves - in finding their current head coaches Stan Van Gundy and Tom Thibodeau, respectively. Wojnarowski shared that, before tying those coaches to their support of Patrick Ewing becoming G'Town's new head guy.

Is this a subtle nod towards Ewing, the program's best player, getting the job? Does Korn Ferry's involvement point toward possible problems in the school's search process? Discuss this and much more on Premium Court.
