After a two year Covid-19 based stoppage, the DC Pro City Kenner League resumed today. All is now right in the DMV Hoops community, as fans can see college and pro performers compete.

Following are brief game reports. On Premium Court are observations from the action.

Tombs 101 On Point 96

In a scintillating battle, Tombs, walked down On Point, pushing the game into an 89-all end of regulation score. On Point was up 18 points at one juncture.

The G'Town tandem of Brandon Murray and Amir Spears was critical. Recent transfers - Murray from LSU, Spears leaving Duquesne - they individually dropped 25 point and five rebounds on 11-17 overall shooting, 3-6 from long distance (Murray), while Spears managed a game best seven assists, adding four points, three rebounds and two steals.

Morgan State's Will Thomas was game high man, finishing with 27 points. Add seven caroms to his totals.

On Point got 15 points from Hoya Jordan Riley. Teammate Ryan Mutombo managed seven points, four rebounds, while incoming George Mason player Justyn Fernandez accounted for eight points.

Clydes 80 Bulldogs 64

Given they are a NCAA Division II team, the Bulldogs (of Bowie State) consisted of all BSU guys. Kaleb Johnson, a new Bulldog, scored 14 points while tallying five rebounds and three helpers in a losing effort. Incoming Bulldog Joel Webb turned some heads with eight points, seven caroms. Four of the latter were offensive.

Jeff Allen, a professional who competed this past season in the Dominican Republic scored 11 points and secured eight rebounds. Another pro (Finland and UK), Brandon Peel, logged six points, five rebounds plus two assists, while Qudus Wahab, a transfer returning to Georgetown, led all players with eight blocks and 13 rebounds. He also managed eight points.

PAPA 62 Call Your Mother 51

Once up 20 points, PAPA eased up, with Call Your Mother taking advantage; at one point CYM was down just eight. Professional Andrew 'Spongebob' Washington led all scorers with 18 points for PAPA, while adding seven rebounds for the victors.

Former Mount St. Mary's stalwart Nana Opoku was top boarder with 10 rebounds for CYA. He also scored 10 points, while recent St. Francis (PA) graduate Tyler Stewart chipped in nine points, five rebounds.

Hoya Blue 64 Hoop Magic 59

This time a lead was blown, as Hoop Magic would never lead again after two minutes, eight seconds left in regulation. They scored just a point afterward.

Hoya transfer Jay Heath accounted for a game tops 21 points, while leading the victors via eight rebounds. Abdulai Bundu, a professional in Europe, logged 14 points, six rebounds and a trio of blocks, Virginia Union performer Kaleaf Tate added eight points, three rebounds. Ayinde Hikim, hailing from UMass-Lowell, impressed with 16 points.

Ronald Polite of George Mason put up 13 points, five rebounds, six assists for Hoop Magic. Former Butler Bulldog Aaron Thompson captained his team, being credited with six points and a contest tops nine rebounds.

Their teammate, Corey Manigault, managed five points and two rebounds, but those numbers are meaningless. What's important is he's playing: This year Manigault was brutally attacked in Cyprus, where he plied his trade. A fund drive followed to bring him home, as Manigault's well being was dicey. Workouts are now occurring - He's on the way back!
