Panthers to prowl into Verizon

December 4, 2013 - Tomorrow night the Georgetown men's basketball program hosts High Point at 9p in Verizon Center. Fox Sports 1 has the television duties, and interestingly enough former Georgetown player and coach Ronny Thompson is doing color commentary. Thompson is also the younger brother of head Hoya John Thompson III.
Tomorrow's radio call, featuring the irrepressible Rich Chvotkin is on 980 AM.

High Point, of the Big South Conference comes into the game 3-3, though it looks as if they may be without a prime component, 5th year forward Allan Chaney; in the past having been sidelined at both Florida and Virginia Tech with a heart inflammation issue and has since been fitted with a defibrillator. An episode November 24th against Wofford has sidelined the 6'9", 230 pound Baltimore native.
Whether Chaney plays or not, sophomore John Brown is still a load, leading the Panthers with 2l.7 point and 9.8 rebound per game. Chaney follows closely at 15.8 points, 8.6 boards.
The Hoyas are 4-1 overall, and winners of three straight. This game represents the second in a four game home stand.
Sophomore guard D'Vauntes Smith-Rivera paces the Hoyas at 18.7 points per game. Senior guard Markel Starks follows with 15 points each time out, while classmate, forward Nate Lubick has pulled down a team high 6.3 boards each contest. Junior forward Markel Starks is second in caroms at 5.8.
