As they continue to revitalize their recruiting following several noteworthy off season changes, Georgetown has now offered Class of 2024 Stepinac HS guard Johnuel "Boogie" Fland. A 6-foot-3, 175 pound point guard from the Bronx, NY, Fland has authored a commendable summer raising his profile as one of the country's most coveted Class of 2024 prospects.

Following a 33-point performance in the CHSAA playoffs, Fland garnered national headlines when the NYC-based PSA Cardinals guard scored 25 points on just 10 shot attempts during the Nike EYBL Session II in Indiana.

Fland also represented the United States in the USA U-17 national team's gold medal conquest in the 2022 FIBA World Cup.The rising junior cemented his status as a consistent outside shot maker and slick point guard capable of creating and also clamping down defensively. During the World Cup, he proved that his on ball defensive aptitude is now one of the finer points of his hardwood trade, with multiple games of six steals or more.

“Boogie anchors us defensively,” explained PSA Cardinals coach Terrence “Munch” Williams, whose team routinely neutralized opponents and held them under the scoring average they entered Indiana with following Nike EYBL Session 1 in Orlando, Fla.“In our space, these guys really take pride in locking up defensively on every possession.”

Georgetown is the latest in a slew of recent high majors to offer the 15-year-old Fland. Kentucky, Auburn, and North Carolina have all offered the prodigal young talent last month.Fland played in the prestigious Under Armour Elite 24 game on August 12 in Chicago. The event is back after a six year hiatus.

Fland enters his junior season a marked man. He's a battle tested centerpiece of a Stepinac HS program with a wealth of talent at decorated head coach Pat Massaroni's disposal. Fland is flanked by a number of intriguing pieces, including versatile 6-foot-8 forward and American University commit Isaiah Alexander. With knockdown shooter and 6-foot-6 versatile forward Braylon Ritvo returning, along with hotly pursued Class of 2025 guard Danny Carbuccia, Fland's Stepinac team will again entertain lofty expectations in tbe CHSAA and on the national landscape.
