Hoyas search for win in NYC
February 24, 2017 - After falling nearly at the buzzer to BIG EAST bottom dwelling DePaul Wednesday night, if Georgetown is to earn a postseason the Hoyas must win consecutive games. The sojourn starts tomorrow, at noon at St. John's.

On the individual player level, graduate forward Rodney Pryor paces the Hoyas by scoring 18.1 points per game, the BIG EAST's third highest mark. He's followed by junior guard L.J. Peak, who puts up 16.4 ppg, ninth in the conference.
St. John's freshman guard Marcus Lovett puts up 17.1 ppg, slotting sixth in the league, while his rookie back court mate, Samarie Ponds logs 17.2 ppg (seventh among BIG EAST players).
On the boards Johnnie junior forward Bashir Ahmed pulls down 5.5 rebounds per game, followed closely on his team and in the league by sophomore forward Tariq Owens' 5.4 rpg. The pair also stands neck to neck among BIG EAST rebounders, standing 13th and 14th.
The Hoyas also have a tandem producing similar numbers in Pryor (5.1 rpg) and sophomore center Jessie Govan (5.0 rpg), numbers that land them 19th and 21st, respectively, on the BIG EAST's carom list.
