Hoyas Haul Pt. 2

February 14, 2015 - The 2015 Georgetown football team pulled in 23 high schoolers, a great first recruiting class for Rob Sgarlata, in his second year at the program's helm.
With help from G'Town's sports information department, in Part 1 we provided the soon-to-be Hoyas' names. Part 2 picks up from there, detailing 11 of the signees.

Blaise Brown, DB, 6'1", 185 lbs, New Orleans, LA, St. Augustine (Loomis Chaffee)
High School: A letterwinner in football and baseball at both St. Augustine and Loomis Chaffee…Selected football team captain as a junior and baseball captain as a junior and senior…Selected all-district as a senior in 2014…Named to the Clarion Herald 2013 Elite Football Team…Helped squad to a 2014 District Championship…At St. Augustine had six interceptions and two returned for touchdowns, with one blocked punt returned for a touchdown in 43 games…Set St. Augustine record with five sacks in one game in 2012…Coached in high school by Cyril Crutchfield and Chuck Reid at Loomis Chaffee.
J'V'on Butler, LB, 6'2", 197 lbs, Melbourne FL, Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy
High School: A three-year letterwinner and three-year starter in football…Two-time 3A First Team All-State selection…Two-time First Team All-Space Coast selection…First Team All-Eastcoast as a junior…Broke school record for sacks in a season (15) and career (28) and receptions in a season (49) and a career (96)…Also earned three varsity letters apiece in basketball and track and field…District high jump champion as a sophomore and junior…Coached in high school by Nate Hooks.
Harrison Carter, LB, 6'3", 230 lbs, Newport Beach, CA, Corona del Mar
High School: A four-year letterwinner and three-year starter in football at defensive end…Selected team captain for his senior season…Two-time First Team all-league and Daisy Pilot Dream Team selection…A 2014 All-Orange County selection…Four-time Scholar Athlete award winner…Helped team to a California State Championship in 2013...Helped program to three consecutive CIF Championships and four consecutive Pacific Coast League Championships…Had 10.5 sacks, 46 tackles, five pass deflections as a senior…Coached by Scott Meyer in high school.
Randy Crystian, OL, 6'2", 285 lbs, Cedar Hill, TX, Cedar Hill
High School: A four-year letterwinner and two-year starter at left tackle…Named team captain of football and track and field for his senior season…Helped school to 2013 and 2014 State Championships and a 28-4 record over the two seasons…Selected All-State Honorable Mention in 2014 and all-district in 2013 and 2014…Coached in high school by Joey McGuire.
Matt Deal, LB, 6'0", 205 lbs, Tallahassee, FL, Maclay School
High School: A four-year letterwinner and four-year starter in football…Named the Tallahassee Quarterback Club Regional Defensive Player of the Year…Selected First Team All-Big Bend…A 2014 Second Team All-State selection…Helped Maclay to two North Florida Conference Championships…Set program records for most tackles in a season (155), most tackles in a single game (24), most single-season sacks (16.5) and tackles for loss (23)…Finished career with 448 tackles, 45 sacks, 68 tackles for loss…Also earned four letters in soccer, three in weightlifting and three in track…Named Maclay's Male Multi-Sport Best Overall Athlete.
Jethro Francois, DB, 6'1", 185 lbs, Miami, FL, Winter Haven, Victory Christian Academy
High School: A four-year letterwinner in football playing in the defensive backfield…Named team captain for his senior season…A Second Team All-State and second team all-district selection in 2014…Helped squad to consecutive district championships and a 2014 State Championship…Also helped team to the 2013 State Championship Game…Finished career with 159 tackles, six interceptions, 16 pass breakups and one touchdown, scored in the state championship game…Coached in high school by Tommy Lewis.
John Groom Jr., DL, 6'1", 298 lbs, Las Vegas, NV, Liberty
High School: Three-year letterwinner in football playing defensive tackle…Named a First Team all-league selection as a senior and a second team all-league selection following his junior season…Helped squad to the State Championship Game during his sophomore season and the state semifinals as a junior and senior…In 27 varsity games made 20 starts, 98 tackles, 14 tackles for loss, six sacks, one forced fumble and 35 quarterback hurries...Coached by Richard Muraco.
Winston Jackson, WR, 5'11", 175 lbs, North Fort Lauderdale, FL, Cardinal Gibbons
High School: Three-year letterwinner and two-year starter at wide receiver…Named team captain for football and track and field as a senior…Selected as a BCAA All-Star…A 5A All-State honorable mention…Had 27 receptions for 377 yards and four touchdowns as a senior…Coached in high school by Mike Morrill…Also lettered in track and field.
Ramon Lyons, DB, 5'9", 175 lbs, Orlando, FL, West Orange
High School: A three-year letterwinner in football, earning two at Ocoee High School and one at West Orange…Selected as the West Orange football team captain as a senior…Helped team to a 2014 District Championship…Finished with 230 tackles, 30 pass breakups, six interceptions, seven forced fumbles and five fumble recoveries during his career…Registered 100 tackles and four interceptions as a senior…Was named to the Nike Sparq Combine All-Combine Team…Coached in high school by Bob Head.
Tower Menning, OL, 6'4", 285 lbs, Madison, WI, Poynette
High School: A three-year letterwinner and three-year starter on the offensive and defensive line…Selected 2014 All-State and all-region on the offensive line…A 2014 first team all-conference offensive and defensive lineman and the 2014 conference offensive lineman of the year…Coached in high school by Todd Anderson…A three-year letter winner in track and field and one-year letterwinner in basketball…Earned a conference championship in the shot put and discus in 2014.
Clay Norris, QB, 6'5", 215 lbs, Charlotte, NC, Myers Park
High School: A four-year letterwinner and two-year starter at quarterback…A two-year team captain…Named SW4A All-Conference following his senior season in addition to earning Myers Park's team most valuable player…Threw for 3,359 yards and 32 touchdown passes in two seasons as a starter…Coached in high school by Scott Chadwick.
