Holihan breaks down the Jay Hawks

December 20, 2013 - Rivals.com, via HoyaReport.com and JayHawkSlant.com has been busy setting the stage for tomorrow's Georgetown at Kansas matchup. It has the makings as one of the best of this early 2013-2014 season, providing big, skilled players competing in the emotionally charged environment of Phog Allen Field House. Noon, tomorrow, on ESPN, AM 570 (DC) and/or Premium Court are the places to watch/listen/comment on this doozie.
JayHawkSlant.com's John Holihan, that site's excellent writer/analyst was kind enough to trade info this evening, an exchange that revealed some interesting takes, including matchups and X's and O's. Following are excerpts.

Offense: "With freshman Joel Embiid coming on and developing into a tremendous low-post scorer, KU has been able to get back playing the type of basketball Self and Kansas have been known for".
"The Jayhawks are much better off working the ball into the low post and allowing Embiid and sophomore Perry Ellis to go to work before looking at the second option with the guards".
Defense: "The athleticism is there to be a very good defensive team, but Kansas has some growing to do in order to get there".
Match-up: "Whether or not the Jayhawks can slow him (D'Vauntes Smith-Rivera down and prevent him from knocking down clean looks on the perimeter is maybe the biggest key in terms of match ups"
