Hampton jets

July 3, 2014 - Just in via @MarcusHelton of DMVElite.com, Class of 2016 forward and Georgetown recruiting target Joe Hampton will no longer be a DeMatha Catholic (MD) Stag. The 6'5", 260 pound forward this upcoming school year will attend Oak Hill Academy in Mouth of Wilson Virginia.

According to a text message from Hampton, he's making the change "Because it's a better fit for me".
Last season at DeMatha, Hampton averaged 11.9 points for the 29-6 Stags. He's also had a standout campaign with DC Premier during this travel team season. Recently, Joe attended the invitation only National Basketball Player's Association Top 100 Camp, where the late addition finished with 2.3 points and 2.3 rebounds per game averages.
Hampton is a very good mid-range shooter, particularly out of the post up position. Also possessing a good feel and mind for the game, Hampton has been attempting to become more of a small forward. In that process, he's farther along handling the ball after facing up then defending in space, though the latter has seen gains.
Rivals.com has ranked Hampton 60th in its recently released Class of 2016 Rivals 150. He also owns a four star designation.
Discuss the move and it's possible impact on Hampton's recruitment on Premium Court.
Soon this site will have a discussion of his development, recruitment and Top 100 experience.
