Domingo is a Bear

May 6, 2014 - Former Georgetown forward Stephen Domingo who transferred last month has decided upon his next collegiate home. He will be a California Golden Bear.
A 6'6" swingman, Domingo left high school a semester early in the winter of 2013 to matriculate at Georgetown. While on the Hilltop, he never displayed the sweet shooting touch that was a prior calling card. His statistics last year were indicative of career Blue and Grey impact - .5 points and .5 rebounds in 4.5 minutes over 19 games.

At Cal, Domingo gets a fresh start with a new coach in multiple ways; not only is Cuonzo Martin obviously new to him, the coach is in his first year at the program, having recently left Tennessee.
In choosing Cal, Domingo returns to his Nor Cal roots, as he starred at San Francisco's St. Ignatius. Of the choice, Domingo told the Times-Union "I'm going forward and Cal will be a place I can flourish and show what I can do" and "Coach Martin said I'll be able to use my length and athleticism on the defensive end and I can be a matchup problem on offense".
Interestingly enough Cal was one of his last college choices before deciding upon G'Town, a program he believes was "just not the right basketball opportunity for me".
He will be eligible to play during the 2015-2016 season, and have two years of eligibility remaining.
