August 9, 2017 - Georgetown has released senior guard Tre Campbell from his basketball obligations today. The school's press release is below.

Campbell, rehabbing a knee injury, reportedly tracked to return around December at the earliest, with sitting out the entire year rumored to be a possibility.

Head coach Pat Ewing noted he will remain on scholarship.

WASHINGTON – Georgetown University men’s basketball coach Patrick Ewing, announced that senior guard Tre Campbell has been released from the program. Campbell will remain on scholarship. “We thank Tre for his contributions to Georgetown basketball and wish him well in his future endeavors,” said Ewing. Campbell appeared in 84 games during his career, averaging 3.7 points and 1.3 assists.
