The recent Basketball Group Team Camp powered by Training Grounds (BGTC) provided college coaches up and down their ecosystem - Division 2/3, NAIA, JUCO - an opportunity to scout players from both DC and Baltimore. Washington's HD Woodson High School was filled with the sounds of bouncing basketballs, squeaking shoes and referee whistles. All while around 20 coaches took notes.

Following are a number of standout players who participated:

Antwan Gross, McKinley Tech (DC), 6'6", 210 pound senior forward - Despite being younger, he's just 16 years old, Gross showed the work he's done on ball patting, routinely being placed in one on one situations, where he attacked. Not a shooter per se, but has improved. Defensively is willing to guard 1-5 in high school.

Cam'Ron Kent, Fairmont Heights (MD), 6'2", 175 pound guard - Played both guard positions, where he scored and dished. Fast and crafty with the ball. If Kent went to a non-public school, he'd be a known entity.

Brazil Hutchinson, Theodore Roosevelt (DC), 6'2", 170 pound senior guard - Displayed effort and heart, competing at a high level. Crafty and willing passer. Loves to strap up.

Cannon Green, Bladensburg (MD), 6'3", 225 pound sophomore wing - Green looks like a football player, but is a high level mid-range shooter that will can three balls.

Ibraheem Oludgin, Bladensburg (MD), 6'8", 210 pound senior center - Developmental in skill set, Ibraheem blocks shots, rebounds and plays hard. High upside guy.

DeAngelo Fogle, Bard (DC), 6'0", 170 pound senior guard - Capable of scoring at three levels, Fogle is a two guard that can give you some minutes at lead. Shoots well when he's playing at his tempo. Will pull up. At times is an energized defender.

Dejhon Muldrow, IDEA (DC), 6'2", 200 pound senior guard/forward - It was clear Mulbrew can score, as he drove, finished and shot at a high clip.

Nehamaiah Johnson, IDEA (DC), 6' 5", 240 pound junior forward - A rebounder and stout presence, Johnson scores from 15 feet in.

Kelvin Hewitt, Eastern (DC), 6', 160 pound junior shooting guard - Hewitt can score. Looks for his shot and makes it regularly.

Elijah Marsh, Eastern (DC), 6', 160 pound senior guard - A scorer, Marsh darts around and makes it happen.

Cameron Colon, Idea (DC), 6'2", 185 pound senior guard - Slasher who can facilitate at the lead guard position.

Nathaniel Pondexter, Bard (DC), 6'3" plus, 215 pound junior wing - Strong and aggressive, Pondexter, a former football player, attacks the game. Plays with some force and competes hard. Is becoming more adept at perimeter play.

Josh Caine, LaPlata (MD), 6'6", 220 pound senior forward - Owning a college level physique right now, Caine scores around the paint, rebounds and defends. Is learning basketball nuance, but always plays hard.

Julian King, Bowie (MD), 6'5", 150 pound junior wing - Bouncy and loving to finish, King had one of the day's top game dunks. As he gets his handle tighter, shot sweeter and physically stronger, Julian's recruitment will take off.

Isaiah Williams, Rosedale (MD), 6'3", 170 pound junior guard - One of the best perimeter players in attendance, Williams was not only entrusted to run his team, but generate points as well. He did both, well. Is a fancy, high level passer that's shifty.

Semaj Marshall, Chavez (DC), 5'8", 120 pound junior lead guard - This kid can be electric. True story: An opposing coach stressed I interviewed him, as Marshall controlled tempo, got to the cup and made it happen, with scant help. He may be small, but this guy can play.

Charles Williams, Parkdale (MD), 6'5", 175 pound senior forward - One of the most complete BGTC players, Williams rebounded, spot up shot and finished. Played fairly hard. Is offensively defaulted.

Donovan Flamer, Rosedale (MD), 6'9", 177 pound sophomore forward - Flamer has high major written all over him, as he's long, bouncy and moves well. It's clear he's worked on outside shooting, and is becoming a better ball patter.

Marquel Thompson, Bard (DC), 6'4", 195 pound senior wing - Think versatility with Thompson, he's a guy that can do some of everything, whether it's shoot, drive, pass or defend. Has gotten in better shape. Looks poised for a huge DCIAA season.
