Coaches today can sometimes end up with a bad case of heartburn trying to find tight ends with speed that can stretch the field. In fact, many staffs have resorted to recruiting wide receivers whose frames will allow them to put on additional 'good weight', without sacrificing any of their natural quickness. And one such prospect, Eric Lair, has seen his stock soar recently because of just that.

The 6-foot-3, 215-pound Houston (Texas) Lamar product was the author of a 4.49-40 (yard dash) at the NIKE (Football Training) Camp in Houston this spring. He's sporting offers from schools such as Nebraska, Oklahoma State, Baylor, Oklahoma, Fresno State, Iowa State and Minnesota at the moment. He plans to take his official visits in the fall before announcing his choice of schools.
