The Prince praises Collison

The Prince, Luc Richard Mbah a Moute was kind of enough on Tuesday to give some of the members of the media a few minutes of his time after Coach Ben Howland's press conference. Interesting enough most of the talk was centered on UCLA's very talented and red hot point guard, Darren Collison.

With Darren Collison playing point this year it seemed at the beginning of the year the big thing was if you were going to miss Jordan Farmar or not. Do you remember those days when people debated whether you guys would miss Jordan? Did you ever think that you would?

Mbah a Moute: "They are two different types of point guards. Darren brings things to the table that that Jordan didn't and Jordan brought things to the table that Darren doesn't. It is just a different style of play.

"Obviously with Darren we play a little faster. He runs the break. It is really just two different point guards."

Usually when a team loses its starting point guard off of a team that went to the title game there is concern about for it there didn't seem to be that much concern about that at UCLA. Why?

Mbah a Moute: "I didn't think it was going to be an issue because Darren got a chance to learn from Jordan from the bench and he played major minutes last year so he had the chance to grow with Jordan, learn from Jordan and now this year he has the team in his hands and he just does his thing.
