December 18, 2012 - Saturday, Georgetown (9-1, ranked 15/21) took out Western Carolina (4-7) 81-68, before 7,341 fans at Verizon Center.

A BIG EAST vs. Southern Conference affair, most would presume its outcome uneventful, with the real interest stemming from the post-game confirmation Georgetown, along with six other BIG EAST schools planning to leave the league.
